Speech and Language Services

Our Speech Language Pathologists (SLP's) and Speech Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) support students, in-person and virtually, with mild to moderate speech or language impairments.  They facilitate improved retention, literacy, communication, and social confidence through:

  • Development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)

  • Auditory habilitation & rehabilitation

  • Therapeutic techniques

  • Cognitive-communication skill-building

  • Staff training and support

  • Diagnostic evaluations and assessments

Therapists meet one-on-one and in small groups, either in-person or online, with students ages 3-22 to address delays in articulation, language expression, understanding, literacy, phonology, voice, fluency, and social pragmatics.

Utilizing a variety of formal and informal assessment tools, SLP’s diagnose children who present with a variety of disabilities and diagnoses including children with articulation and language delays, children who present with a variety of disabilities and diagnoses including children who have been diagnosed with Autism, chromosomal abnormalities, children with hearing difficulties, and other children who struggle to find success through communication in school.

Our SLP's are trained to address students' specific needs by creating measurable and attainable goals.  SLP's and SLPA's help students meet these goals by using a variety of evidence-based therapeutic techniques that are chosen to keep their interest and to facilitate meaningful communication in both social and academic settings.

Together with parents and caregivers, school administrators, teachers, and other providers, SLP’s and SLPA’s work collaboratively to ensure that clients of all abilities continue to improve and are able to utilize functional communication skills within their school community to have their wants and needs understood.
