Adapted PE Teacher
The school-based Adapted Physical Education Teacher/Specialist will provide services/direct instruction to students and consultation to parents and teachers in the area of adapted physical education for students identified with special needs in the area of physical education. The Adapted Physical Education Specialist will use instructional procedures that meet the individual needs of students with physical or developmental disabilities.
Adapted PE Teacher will:

Provides an appropriate and innovative Adapted PE sessions/services when assigned

Provides consultation in Adaptive PE techniques

Designs programs to meet individual student needs as specified on the IEP in physical fitness, gross motor skills, perceptual motor skills, and sports and games achievement

Participates in the IEP process from referral to implementation as appropriate, including assessments, report writing, IEP meeting attendance, and the development of goals and objectives

Evaluates and monitors student progress and makes periodic reports on the achievement and personal adjustment of identified students

Maintains accurate written records of student progress, goals, and objectives, and attendance

Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned
